Chat with Adomo

Who is this for? Everyone. Chat is the front door to Adomo: ask questions, take actions, build and run processes, and hand off bigger tasks, all in plain English.

Open the chat panel in the Adomo web app (or the Chat tab in the mobile app) and just describe what you want. Adomo figures out whether you're asking a question, requesting a one-off action, describing a new process, or kicking off something that's already built, and responds accordingly.

What you can ask for

  • Answers about your business data. "What was last quarter's pipeline coverage for the West region?" Adomo pulls from the systems your workspace has connected and from your workspace knowledge, and answers with text, charts, or tables.
  • A single action. "Update the close date on the Acme deal to June 30." Adomo confirms what it's about to do before it touches anything, then does it and reports back.
  • A new process. "Every Monday at 8am, summarize open invoices over 30 days and send the list to the finance channel." Adomo drafts a process you can review and approve. Nothing activates without your explicit approval (see Processes (Workflows)).
  • Run an existing process. "Kick off vendor onboarding for Initech." Adomo finds the process, collects any inputs it needs, and starts a run you can watch live.
  • A bigger task. For multi-step work (research, reconciliation, drafting a document from several sources), Adomo works on it in the background and shows you a live progress view in the conversation, step by step, so you always know where it stands.

How a conversation works

  • Clarifying questions. When your request is ambiguous, Adomo asks a short set of structured questions (usually with suggested options plus a free-text field) instead of guessing. Answer them and it continues.
  • Streaming answers. Responses appear as they're generated, and longer tasks show a live progress indicator so you always know what's happening.
  • Context awareness. Chat knows what you're looking at. If you're on a process page and ask "why did the last run fail?", Adomo knows which process you mean.

Attach files and images

Drag and drop files into the composer, or paste an image directly.

  • Documents (PDFs, Word docs, presentations) are read and used to answer your question, and they're indexed so chat can search inside them again later in the same conversation. Spreadsheets are read directly and aren't indexed for later search.
  • Attachments are not automatically added to your workspace Knowledge. If you want a document in the shared knowledge base, add it there explicitly (see Knowledge).
  • Images are analyzed visually. Paste a screenshot of an error, a chart, or a whiteboard photo and ask about it.
  • The files popover at the top of a conversation lists every file attached to, created by, or used in that thread, with download buttons.

What Adomo sends back

Beyond plain text, chat responses can include:

  • Charts - interactive, with tooltips and legends, downloadable as PNG, JPEG, or SVG.
  • Tables - for anything list-shaped.
  • Files - generated reports, exports, and documents you can download.
  • Process draft cards - a reviewable draft with Approve & Activate and Reject buttons when you've described a new automation.
  • Links - to the relevant process, run, approval, or record so you can click through for full detail.

Larger artifacts open in a content panel beside the conversation so the chat itself stays readable.

Chat outside the web app

  • Mobile app - the same chat, on your phone. See Mobile App.
  • Google Chat - if your admin has enabled it, you can message the Adomo app directly in Google Chat (DM it, or mention it in a space) and get the same answers there.
  • Microsoft Teams - if your admin has set up the Adomo Teams bot, you can message Adomo directly in Teams and get the same answers there. Teams also delivers approval requests and notifications.
  • Slack - you can't chat conversationally with Adomo in Slack. Adomo delivers approval requests and notifications there, with a link or buttons that open the request in Adomo so you can respond. To ask questions, use the web app, mobile app, Google Chat, or Teams. See Notifications (for Users).

Safety and permissions

  • Chat acts as you. It can only see and do what your own Adomo permissions allow. It never has more access than you do.
  • Risky actions ask first. Read-only lookups just run. Anything that writes or changes data shows you a confirmation first, and sensitive actions go through the same approval gates they would anywhere else in Adomo. When you confirm, you can choose to allow that action once, for the rest of the chat, or always - if you pick Always allow, Adomo won't ask again for that action.
  • Everything is logged. Every action chat takes on your behalf is recorded in the audit trail, the same as actions taken in the app.

FAQ

Can other people see my chats?

No. Your conversations are your own. Work that chat produces (processes, runs, knowledge documents) is visible according to the normal sharing rules for those items.

Why did chat say it can't do something?

Usually one of three reasons: the integration it needs isn't connected (ask your admin, see Integrations), you don't have permission for that action, or the action needs an approval that hasn't been granted yet. Adomo tells you which one in plain language.

Can I pick which AI model chat uses?

Your workspace admin chooses the models available to the workspace. If you have a need for a specific model, ask your admin.

Can chat generate images, videos, or slide decks?

Not directly in a chat reply. Media generation (images, short videos, and PPTX or PDF slide decks) happens through process steps. Describe what you want in chat and Adomo will draft a process (or use an existing one) with a media-generation step. See Processes (Workflows).

Can I create a support ticket from chat?

No. The product chat can't file support tickets. To contact support, email [email protected], call +1 (866) 995-4498, or use the Contact Us link at the top of the help center. Track existing tickets at /my/tickets while signed in.
